Rice Planting Japanese Course
A two-week Japanese language and cultural immersion program in rural Akita, available only during rice planting season. You'll study in the mornings and spend afternoons practicing Japanese through real activities with local people.

May 19 – June 2, 2027 (2 weeks)
Japanese level
All levels welcome — from complete beginners to intermediate learners. Lessons focus on practical, everyday conversation so you're ready for real situations from day one.
Typical day
🌅9:00 – 12:30 — Japanese lessons in an authentic classroom (including breaks)
🌾Afternoon — Activities with local people: rice planting, cooking, hiking, onsen, BBQ and more
📅Weekends — Cultural events and excursions around Akita

Accommodation
Japanese sharehouse, 10 min from school — $270 USD / week (single room, limited availability). Shared kitchen, bathroom, and lounge. Free laundry. Choose between tatami + futon or a western bed. Hotels can also be arranged.
