Summary:

This course is designed to help you become comfortable speaking Japanese as quickly and naturally as possible. Using special teaching techniques developed by experienced instructors, even complete beginners are often surprised at how easy and enjoyable it is to start communicating in Japanese. With consistent practice, many students find themselves becoming fluent faster than expected.

The Standard Course focuses on practical speaking skills using modern, engaging materials and interactive activities. Lessons take place in small groups, both inside the classroom and out in real-life settings. You will first learn key grammar and communication techniques with your teacher, then immediately apply them through real-world practice, helping you build confidence and adapt to new situations.

The course includes 20 lessons per week:

• 10 grammar-focused lessons (50 minutes each)

• 10 “application” lessons that develop all four skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing) in communicative contexts

This course also serves as the foundation for any long-term study plan at GenkiJACS. Students who wish to intensify their learning can add optional modules or add-on classes to customize their experience.

Classes are held Monday to Friday, and the course starts every Monday throughout the year, making it easy to begin whenever you’re ready. It is open to learners of all Japanese levels.
Note: Hiragana knowledge is required for all levels. Complete beginners can join on the first Monday of each month (or the 1st & 3rd Mondays of June, July, and August).
